The Working group HT is the group of the Ambassadors of Genoa in the world (AGW) dedicated to issues and projects related to high technology. It is one of four working groups that represent the four pillars of the mandate of the Mayor of Genoa Marco Bucci: Intermodal and integrated Logistics, high tech, art, tourism and culture and healthcare.
The group has worked without losing sight of the most important objective of the ambassador’s activity, as willed by the mayor, to bring new national and international investments to the city of Genoa that can have an impact on the GDP and create new job opportunities. Throughout 2020 the group has worked on the analysis and selection of projects proposed by each member of the WG. There were 13 very interesting projects that were accurately evaluated for their potential impact on the city. In June of 2020 it was decided to go forward with three projects of great significance for the city of Genoa, in accordance with the pillars of the mandate always aiming to fulfill the main objective of the AGW, such as bringing new investments and increasing the ones that already exist. These three projects, all with similar purposes, were combined into one named: Digital Campus. This project has three main objectives: to bring young students from other italian cities and the rest of the world to study in Genoa; To turn Genoa into an important location for satellite campuses of prestigious foreign universities; to further develop the collaboration between universities, the business world and the public administration to provide companies with young talent and to offer interesting job opportunities to students. This project was split into eight sub-groups: Contacts with universities, relations with with companies and start-ups, business plans, relations with sponsors, communication and advertising, fund-raising, rent reductions, disused and unused premises, Erzelli/Val Polcevera, agreements and legal documents.
GENERACTION: a knowledge hub on the design of open systems (infrastructure and ecosystems) capable of characterising Genoa as a junction between systemic knowledge and technical knowledge, between education and implementation, between territory and the world. KEY for strategic alliances: attracting qualified and talented people, enhancing the local context (real estate and business). Last but not least the creation of the start-up commitee tasked with taking the project forward. The committee is made up of three members from the Ambassadors of Genoa AGW and three members of the board of advisors AGW. The committee will soon take on the following tasks: drafting of a proposal for multi-step project planning , Vision and Mission, defining the value proposition, team , business and action plans.
